These Disney moments have made 2018 super memorable – from Mickey to Marvel, and everything in between.




MICKEY MOUSE’S 90TH BIRTHDAY SPECTACULAR!

The special, which aired on ABC in early November, celebrated the wonderful life of classic Disney character Mickey Mouse. One of the coolest moments on TV was the segment where Mickey himself came out on stage to play the drums to the tune of Aladdin’s “Friend Like Me.” Check it out below!






MINNIE MOUSE

Miss Minnie Mouse has had her own wonderful year – from being featured in Mickey Mouse Clubhouse episodes, to being in the Disney parade alongside Mickey for his birthday – she’s been everywhere! Not to mention having tons of cute accessories and clothes featuring her signature pink bow and red polka dotted dress!






MARVEL’S BLACK PANTHER MOVIE

It was the biggest blockbuster of 2018 – and one of the greatest movies of all-time for representation, characters, and superhero legacy. It garnered over 1.3 billion dollars at the box office, and became the 9th highest grossing film of all time! It was the first Marvel film with a predominantly African-American cast, and gave audiences standout performances from Chadwick Boseman, Michael B. Jordan, Lupita Nyong’o, and Daniel Kaluuya. And can we take a moment to appreciate those amazing effects?!






SOLO: A STAR WARS STORY

A megahit all around and a film that received numerous praise from Star Wars fans everywhere – Solo proved that Star Wars is here to stay. Epic battle scenes, classic characters like Hans Solo and Chewbacca, it featured everything you could ever ask for in a space action film.





DISNEY’S CHRISTOPHER ROBIN

Heart, history, and a few pretty hilarious moments, this new age look at Winnie the Pooh featured Ewan McGregor as family man Christopher Robin, who got back to his roots when he visited Pooh’s world in the Hundred Acre Wood. If you didn’t get a chance to catch this movie in theaters, rent it at home and bring plenty of tissues – there are definitely a few tearjerker scenes.





MINIONS AND EVERYTHING DESPICABLE ME

The Despicable Me trilogy has continued to be super popular amongst kids and adults alike thanks to its fun characters and adorable Minions! The Minions even got their own feature flick – how cool is that? There’s even a whole line of merch that’s perfect for any fan – so that just proves its everlasting popularity right there!






DISNEY PRINCESSES AND THE EVERLASTING FROZEN CRAZE

Who didn’t want to be a Disney princess? And there’s not one person I can think of that doesn’t know at least one song from Frozen! Frozen has continued to be watched and sang-along to for years now, especially around the winter season! Even Ryan Reynold’s daughters can’t get enough of it! And Disney princesses like Cinderella and Snow White have made a comeback in 2018’s Wreck it Ralph 2: Ralph Breaks the Internet – check out one of their scenes below!






MAJOR MOTION PICTURES: DISNEY’S FORAY INTO LIVE ACTION MOVIES

Mary Poppins, Aladdin, The Lion King…the list goes on and on! 2018 was all about making a splash with the reinvention of animated or classic movies into something live action with real actors – looking at you, Emily Blunt! Oh, and let’s not forget the iconic stars for Aladdin and The Lion King: Will Smith as the “Genie” and Beyoncé as “Nala”, respectively.






INCREDIBLES 2

Family fun at its finest: Disney’s long-awaited sequel to the 2004 Incredibles movie was released this summer and astounded audiences everywhere! Featuring funny scenes, lots of action (Elastigirl and Mr. Incredible to the rescue!), and plenty of relatable family moments, this film stunned critics and viewers, making it even more popular than its predecessor! THE CONTINUED AVENGERS SAGA – AVENGERS: INFINITY WAR

You can’t have a top 10 Disney moments list and not include the latest Avengers movie! Led by an all-star cast: Robert Downey Jr., Chris Hemsworth, Chris Evans, Tom Holland, Scarlett Johansson, and Elizabeth Olsen, the film featured the Avengers and the Guardians of the Galaxy attempting to stop Thanos from getting the Infinity Stones. The years long development process certainly paid off – the movie grossed 2 billion against its 3-400 million budgets. It was one of Disney’s finest cinematic achievements this year.
